This policy explains what information Five Dot Ranch Hunting & Fishing collects through this website, why we collect it, and how it’s used. If you have questions, see Contact Us for how to reach us.
Who We Are
This site is operated by Five Dot Ranch Hunting & Fishing, a program of Five Dot Land & Cattle Co. Our mailing address is PO Box 50, Standish, CA 96128. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
Reservation inquiry form. When you submit an inquiry through this site, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of inquiry (hunting, fishing, or general), any species/opportunity or preferred dates you enter, membership status, and your message. This information is emailed directly to our staff so we can follow up with you, and you’ll also receive an automatic confirmation email. Submitting this form is an inquiry only – it does not book or confirm a reservation.
Access License forms. Every angler, and every waterfowl hunter accessing Five Dot property through an outside guide or group, completes an Access License before arriving. Big-game hunters instead complete a release coordinated directly as part of trip planning. The online Access License is hosted by Adobe (Adobe Acrobat Sign), a third-party e-signature service – when you complete it, your name, signature, and the other information you enter are submitted directly to Adobe and shared with us. Adobe’s own privacy practices govern how they handle that submission; see Adobe’s privacy policy for details. A downloadable PDF version is also available if you’d prefer not to use the online form.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information for every visit – your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring site. This is used for security and troubleshooting, not to identify you personally.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, and may use other analytics tools, to help us understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived, general location at the city/region level, and device/browser type). These tools use cookies and similar technology to collect this information. We use this only in aggregate to improve the site – not to identify individual visitors. Google’s use of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Embedded Content
Some pages include embedded YouTube videos. Video thumbnails are shown with no connection to YouTube until you actually press play – once you do, YouTube may collect data about that interaction under its own privacy policy, in the same way it would if you watched the video directly on youtube.com.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use a minimal number of technical cookies needed for the site to function (for example, if you log in as an administrator), plus analytics cookies as described above. This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; doing so shouldn’t affect your ability to browse the site, though it may affect our ability to understand site usage.
How We Use and Share Your Information
We use the information we collect to respond to inquiries, process Access License submissions, communicate with you about your visit, and understand and improve how the site is used. We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers who help us run the site and respond to you – currently Adobe (e-signature forms), Google (analytics), and our email delivery provider – and only as needed for them to provide that service.
Data Retention
We keep inquiry and Access License submissions as long as reasonably needed for reservation, safety, and record-keeping purposes. If you’d like us to delete information you’ve submitted, contact us and we’ll do so unless we have a legitimate reason to retain it (for example, a completed Access License on file for liability purposes).
Your Choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, request a correction, or request deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. You can also decline to submit the reservation inquiry form and instead reach us by email directly – see Contact Us.
Children’s Privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the reservation inquiry form or any other part of the site.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as we add new tools like analytics. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
