Fishing Rules

Current fishing rules at Round Valley Reservoir:

• Catch-and-release only
• Barbless artificial flies and lures only – no live bait
• All fishing is by reservation and subject to availability
• A completed Access License must be submitted before arriving
• A limited number of aluminum boats are available; bring your own electric trolling motor if you plan to use one – gasoline-powered motors are not allowed on the reservoir
• Float tubes, personal pontoon boats, and small jon boats are also welcome; trailered boats aren’t recommended, given the reservoir’s remote, secluded access

Rules of Conduct

These additional rules of conduct are part of the Access License agreement and apply to every visit:

1. Park only in the designated parking area, which may change at the ranch’s discretion.
2. Do not drive off-road if the roads are wet – you’re responsible for judging road conditions, and may be held responsible for repair costs from driving on wet roads.
3. ATVs may not be driven on the property.
4. Minors may not fish unless accompanied by an adult.
5. Do not access the property while under the influence of drugs or alcohol beyond the legal limit.
6. Follow all laws set by the State of California and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
7. Anyone cited for trespassing on lands bordering the property will be immediately expelled without refund.
8. Anyone cited for or observed breaking fishing laws will be expelled without refund.
9. Firearms are not permitted on the property.
10. Campfires are not permitted for any reason.
11. Overnight camping is allowed only in designated areas, which are subject to change at the ranch’s discretion.
12. Remove all personal belongings, including garbage, boats, and trailers – nothing may be stored at the lake access unless you’re present, aside from a seasonal designated boat storage area.
